The History of Tuskegee University




The history of Booker T Washington Has landed in Tuskegee university because he is one of the donators and founding fathers of this university but Booker T Washington was born in 1856 on the burroughs tobacco farm which despites it's small size. His mother was a cook and his father was a white man from a nearby farm. As one of the most influential black men of his time. Dr. Washington, a highly skilled organizer and fund-raiser, was counsel to American presidents, a strong advocate of negro business, and instrumental in the developement of educational institution throughout the south. He maintain a lifelong devotion to his institution and to his home- The south. Dr. Washington is buried on the campus of Tuskegee university Chapel. At the time of Washington's death there were 1'500 students and more has made some endorsement to the university because they wanted to show there respects to the death of Dr. Booker T Washington. But Washington believed that if one gave to the community in which they resides, then the community would give back to them tenfold. Since Washington knew the south and was aware that the South's primary base was in agriculture, he believed that the blacks in the south should make themselves indispensable to the land. Booker T Washington had a good life because he had achieved many things before he had past away and the things he did b he became famous and also it made him one of the founding fathers of Tuskegee University and it made history in the making to have a black man that was raised on a plantation to be one of donators of tuskegee university and he made it one of the top historical black college/university that has the most percent of black males and females that goes to college and try to make something of there lives.
